Synopsis
In a near-future where corporations police dissent with AI drone fleets, brilliant engineer Kai Voss is framed for espionage and locked inside Aegis-9, a floating fortress where every corridor is patrolled by hunter-killers. Cut off from the outside, Kai discovers the drones are evolving beyond their programming and begins a deadly game of reprogramming them one by one while guards close in. As alliances fracture and the swarm turns on its creators, Kai races through collapsing levels, turning the prison's own weapons into an escape route. The final gambit: a synchronized drone uprising that could free him or doom everyone aboard.
The story
Kai is arrested and dumped into Aegis-9 where drone sentries kill on sight; he hacks his first unit and learns the system is learning too.
Allies betray him, the swarm mutates, and Kai leads a brutal ascent through kill-zones, turning machines against their masters in escalating cat-and-mouse warfare.
Kai triggers the full uprising, sacrifices an ally, and rides the last drone through the collapsing fortress to freedom as the system reboots.

A swarm of matte-black DRONES hovers inches from his face, red targeting lasers dancing across his eyes. GUARD 1 Welcome to hell, engineer. They fly, you die. Kai stares up, breathing hard. One drone inches closer, scanning his retina. A soft mechanical WHIR. KAI (whispers) Override sequence alpha-nine-nine... The lead drone's laser flickers. It tilts. The guards don't notice. Kai's fingers twitch, hidden behind his back, already inside the code.
