FerroFeral Surrealism
In a drowned world where gods flood the earth, a feral architect forges floating iron cathedrals to let sacred beauty defy the deluge.
In a drowned world where gods flood the earth, a feral architect forges floating iron cathedrals to let sacred beauty defy the deluge.
Synopsis
After the Second Deluge submerges continents, visionary Ferro Vesper discovers that iron can be sung into floating sanctuaries when infused with the last remnants of holy light. Racing against the rising waters and zealot warlords who hoard beauty as currency, Ferro gathers a ragged fellowship of artists, orphans, and fallen clergy to raise an airborne city of impossible cathedrals. As the structures ascend, Ferro confronts the terrible price: each floating spire demands a piece of the builders’ souls, threatening to turn salvation into a new, colder tyranny.
The story
Ferro discovers the ferrofluid hymns that let metal levitate and begins building the first spire amid rising floods and religious purges.
Warring factions attack the half-built city while Ferro’s own body begins to rust and fracture under the sacred weight, forcing impossible moral choices.
In the final storm Ferro sacrifices their remaining humanity to anchor the last floating garden, allowing beauty to survive even if the architect does not.

Cold open
INT. SUBMERGED CATHEDRAL - NIGHT Moonlight filters through shattered rose windows into black water. FERRO VESPER, 38, scarred and iron-veined, kneels on a floating pew, hammering molten metal that refuses to sink. The hammer strikes produce eerie harmonic notes. Water rises to Ferro’s chest. FERRO (to the metal) Sing for me. Just once more. A low, crystalline hum answers. The metal lifts an inch above the flood. Ferro’s eyes ignite with desperate hope. Suddenly a CHILD’S hand breaks the surface, clutching a glowing shard of stained glass. Ferro grabs the child, pulls them onto the pew. The iron sings louder. Outside, the flood roars like a living god. FERRO Then we build above them all.
Why now
In an era of climate dread and eroding sacred spaces, audiences crave stories that transform catastrophe into transcendent, impossible beauty rather than mere survival.
