Synopsis
Vance Riggs leads a beige life of actuarial tables and microwave dinners until his daughter secretly films him tearing up the living room to an old disco track. The clip explodes online under the hashtag #JustDanceVance, turning the awkward 42-year-old into an overnight meme and reluctant icon. Studios, brands, and his own buttoned-down firm all want a piece of the phenomenon, but Vance must decide whether to keep dancing or retreat before the spotlight burns his family to ash. As the dance empire grows, Vance reconnects with his estranged teenage daughter through late-night freestyle sessions while dodging a rival choreographer who tries to steal his moves and his spotlight. Corporate sponsors demand sanitized routines that erase the raw authenticity that made him famous, pushing Vance toward a breaking point. In the end, he risks everything on one unscripted public performance that could either cement his legacy or send him back to cubicle obscurity.
The story
Vance's drab routine is shattered when his daughter's secret video of him dancing goes mega-viral; he is suddenly offered a TV deal and must hide the truth from his stiff corporate bosses.
Fame strains his marriage and fatherhood as a slick rival choreographer muscles in, forcing Vance to choose between sanitized commercial gigs and the raw joy that made him famous in the first place.
Vance stages an unsanctioned live finale on the steps of his old office building, winning back his daughter and proving that one authentic moment beats a lifetime of playing it safe.

INT. RIGGS SUBURBAN LIVING ROOM - NIGHT Fluorescent lights hum. Spreadsheet-covered tables. VANCE RIGGS (42, rumpled tie, dad bod) stands alone in socks. He hits play on his phone. A thumping 70s disco track blasts. Vance starts stiff, then melts into fluid, joyful moves—spins, slides, pure release. He doesn't notice the hallway shadow. LILA (16) films through the cracked door, grinning. The song peaks. Vance hits a final spin and freezes, panting, smiling like a kid. LILA (whisper, offscreen) Dad? You good? Vance whips around, mortified. Lights snap off. Silence. The phone screen glows with the word "UPLOADING..." CUT TO BLACK.
