Synopsis
In a hidden suburb where monsters masquerade as suburbanites, crusty old Grom the Breadaddict mainlines sourdough in secret while dodging gluten-shaming neighbors and his vegan vampire roommate. When a viral video exposes his carb binges, Grom is forced into a 12-step program run by a judgmental celery-sipping swamp creature who wants him off the carbs for good. As withdrawal hallucinations turn his kitchen into a baguette battlefield, Grom must choose between his monstrous cravings and the fragile new life he's built among the humans he secretly adores.
The story
Grom's double life unravels when his secret stash is discovered during a neighborhood potluck, forcing him into rehab and threatening his monster clan's cover.
Withdrawal torments Grom with sentient bread hallucinations while his family fractures and a rival monster exposes him on social media, pushing him to relapse in spectacular fashion.
Grom confronts his addiction in a final bakery showdown, chooses his found family over the loaf, and reclaims his humanity by opening a monster-friendly gluten-free pop-up that saves them all.

A tiny bread sprite made of crust dances on the counter. BREAD SPRITE ( squeaky ) More. More. MORE. Grom lunges, knocking over a vase. Glass shatters. From the hallway: VESPER (O.S.) Grom! If you're stress-eating the neighbor's kids again— Grom frantically stuffs the loaf into his mouth, cheeks bulging like balloons. He freezes mid-chew as Vesper's shadow appears.
