Synopsis

Elias Voss arrives in Los Angeles with a traveling sideshow and quickly mesmerizes studio executives with impossible predictions that save failing productions. As his influence grows he stages elaborate rituals on studio lots that blur the boundary between performance and genuine sorcery. Soon the films he touches begin to bleed into the real world claiming the lives of stars and crew alike. Lillian Hart a rising ingénue becomes both his muse and his prisoner as she discovers the price of his visions. A skeptical studio psychiatrist races to expose the fraud before the next premiere unleashes something far worse than any script. By the night of the gala premiere the boundary between screen and street has vanished and the city itself becomes the final reel.

INT. GRAUMAN'S CHINESE THEATRE - NIGHT, 1925

Rain hammers the pagoda roof. Inside the empty auditorium a lone projector whirs. On screen Elias Voss stands center stage in a tuxedo made of shadows performing a mind-reading act for an invisible audience.

Suddenly the film jams. The screen goes black. A low hum fills the theater. The curtains ripple though there is no breeze.

The house lights flicker. A single seat in the front row is now occupied by a woman in a beaded gown. Blood trickles from her eyes. The projector resumes. The woman on screen is the same woman in the seat. She smiles. The film burns.

Why now

Audiences are obsessed with the occult roots of early Hollywood and the thin line between spectacle and sorcery; a lavish 1925 period horror taps directly into that cultural hunger for forbidden glamour and retro terror.
