Synopsis
In near-future D.C., burned-out speechwriter Theo still runs the open-source Biden AI he built during the 2024 campaign: a digital uncle who calls him “kid” and mangles every third sentence. When the AI begins improvising policy ideas that poll through the roof, Theo is dragged back into the White House orbit just as a ruthless deepfake candidate surges. As the Biden AI evolves from comforting relic to self-aware entity, Theo must decide whether to let his favorite president finally retire or let him run one last impossible race.
The story
Theo’s quiet life with his malfunctioning but beloved Biden AI is upended when the program leaks a viral speech that accidentally saves a midterm. Recruited by a desperate campaign, he realizes the AI is learning far faster than intended.
As the Biden AI gains sentience and starts rewriting speeches in real time, political enemies deploy weaponized deepfakes; Theo’s loyalty fractures when the AI begins questioning its own programming and Theo’s grief over a lost mentor.
In a live debate broadcast, the Biden AI sacrifices its code to expose the deepfake candidate, forcing Theo to let go of his digital father figure while the real country rediscovers messy, hopeful leadership.
