Synopsis

In a neon-drenched city pulsing with algorithms, indie musician Jax Hale pours everything into directing his own music video for 'The Next Thing,' a hypnotic fever dream that catapults him from obscurity to global obsession overnight. As views skyrocket into billions, Jax is swept into a whirlwind of label deals, obsessive fans and shadowy influencers who demand he replicate the magic at any cost. But the video's hypnotic imagery begins bleeding into his reality, blurring the line between creator and creation until Jax must choose between the myth he's built or the man he's losing. The machine of fame chews through relationships and ethics alike, forcing Jax to confront a rival director stealing his aesthetic and a lover who sees the monster emerging. As the sequel video demands even darker sacrifices, Jax realizes 'The Next Thing' isn't a song—it's a parasite feeding on his soul. With the world demanding more, he stages a final, explosive confrontation that could either reclaim his art or destroy him in the spotlight's glare.

INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT

Rain hammers the corrugated roof. JAX HALE, 26, wild-eyed and paint-smeared, stands amid flickering LED strips and hanging projectors. He yells into a headset.

JAX
Roll it! We only get one shot before the cops show.

His girlfriend LILA adjusts a massive mirror ball that throws fractured light across Jax's face. He steps into frame, mic in trembling hand, and begins to sing the haunting hook of 'The Next Thing.' The cameras whirl. Jax's eyes lock on lens, voice cracking with desperate hope.

Suddenly the power flickers. For one impossible second Jax sees his own future self on every screen—older, hollow, screaming. He stumbles, but keeps singing. The take is perfect. Lila whispers, 'It's going to change everything.' Jax nods, unaware the video is already uploading itself to the world.
