Synopsis
Beneath a sky that hasn't cleared in twenty years, remote drone operator Lena Voss intercepts a coded beacon pulsing from the unreachable upper atmosphere. Her investigation drags her into a forgotten research station where she learns the clouds were seeded by a desperate global coalition to mask total solar collapse. As storms intensify and alliances fracture, Lena must decide whether to broadcast the truth and risk panic or preserve the fragile order above the veil. Her estranged sister, a government liaison, races to silence her while a ragtag crew of storm chasers offers uneasy alliance. Each ascent reveals more: dying satellites, abandoned colonies, and the chilling possibility that the clouds are not just hiding the sun but protecting something that wants to stay hidden. Time is running out as the artificial ceiling begins to tear.
The story
