## Synopsis

In the summer of 2012, reclusive gamer Derek films himself in his cluttered basement man-cave. His latest "project" is an animated 2D cheerleader named Mika who has become his emotional support anime wife. Shot on a cheap camcorder with all the grain, color bleed and tracking errors of the era, the footage captures their increasingly unhinged daily banter. Mika cheers, bounces and shouts encouragement while Derek types, drinks energy drinks and slowly reveals the disturbing depth of his delusion. What begins as awkward flirtation escalates into a full-blown wedding vow exchange that is equal parts hilarious, pathetic and deeply unsettling. The video ends on a freeze-frame of Mika mid-cheer as Derek whispers the final question to the camera: "Do you think she will be the best wife ever?"
