Night after night in his battered taxi, Noddy records rambling voice notes on an old toy recorder, obsessing over the "filth" of broken toy rules and the way Toyland has lost its innocence. He grows increasingly isolated, avoiding Toy Town's cheerful daytime bustle and instead prowling the rainy back roads past deserted playhouses and overgrown doll gardens.
  His paranoia peaks when he spots what he believes is a criminal ring of goblins planning to steal the town's famous bell. Arming himself with a toy cap gun modified with real nails and a spring-loaded plunger, Noddy crashes a late-night gathering at the Goblin's Den, convinced he is the town's last honest soul.
